Humble&Brag × StackFuel — YouTube Shoot Briefs
Data Analyst — YouTube Series
Six videos for the German market — the approach, the rationale, the shoot briefs, and the full word-for-word scripts. (Strategy in English; all on-screen titles, hooks and scripts in German.)
The approach
Data Analyst is StackFuel's most in-demand course, so the series leads with it rather than the whole role spectrum. Every video is built on a proven title structure (roadmap, honest reality-check, day-in-the-life, portfolio, AI-future): formats that already work in the niche, brought over to the German market — Power BI/SQL/Excel instead of a generic stack, German salary figures, and the Bildungsgutschein as the funding bridge.
All videos hold the StackFuel register: calm, honest, no hype. Maria fronts the funding/process topics, Alexander the career/skills topics. No income promises, no AI scaremongering, and the call-to-action is always the low-stakes free Beratung (consultation).
The rationale
The line-up is data-led. We reviewed twelve high-performing competitor videos — from CareerFoundry, Agatha, Christine Jiang, Matt Mike, Alex The Analyst and Kedeisha Bryan — and analysed 224 videos (98 DE / 126 EN) via the YouTube API. For Germany the data was clear:
- The German market is concentrated and underserved — nearly half of the DE videos come from a single channel, and StackFuel's own Bildungsgutschein video is already a strong outlier (×38.9 on a small base).
- German demand ranks differently from the US originals: salary, tutorials/tools and the funding topic over-perform (the top DE outlier is a Power BI tutorial, ×168); the pure "don't become" format is weaker in DE, but still useful as a short click-driver.
- What every creator teaches — and what we adopt: the same tool order (Excel → SQL → one BI tool, Power BI now ahead of Tableau; Python only as the extension), "intermediate, not advanced" as the bar, a SQL test in virtually every interview, a portfolio that is one real project with a recommendation rather than tutorials, and domain knowledge from the previous career as the biggest career-changer advantage. Storytelling — explaining the numbers as a clear recommendation — is the most-cited skill gap in the research.
